ClearImage Versions

ClearImage runtime DLLs come in two versions:

• Development - It is automatically activated when ClearImage SDK is installed AND Production version is not active.  Development version operates in Evaluation or Development mode.
• Production- It is automatically activated when ClearImage PDK is installed.  Development version operates in Production mode.

Only one version can be active on a computer at any time.  Use Licensing Manager's Versions menu to identify or select the currently active version.

Operational Modes

Evaluation mode

This mode is available when Development version is active for 60 days after ClearImage SDK is installed.  All functionality of ClearImage products is available without limitation.  NOTE:  60 days Evaluation period starts also upon installation of ClearImage PDK.  

At Inlite's description in exceptional cases Evaluation mode can be extended for additional 60 days.

Development mode

This mode is enabled when Development version is active and after Evaluation  mode expired.   All functionality of ClearImage products is available with the only limitation:  ClearImage periodically displays a dialog box that require user interaction.  This limits use of ClearImage SDK for unattended operations and operation that do not have User Interface (e.g. Windows Service)

Production mode

This mode is enabled when Production version is active.  Production mode is activated upon installation of ClearImage PDK. 
In Production mode functionality of ClearImage is limited to licensed products.   Call to methods implemented in unlicensed product generates a run-time exception.
